Summary: 24 hrs in A and E before getting a bed on a ward

Spent 24hrs in A&E, asked several times about possibility of getting a bed which 2 Doctors had said would happen but couldn’t/wouldn’t give me an answer. Tried to sleep in A&E but no chance. Got a better night sleep in Baghdad International airport which was looted and ripped apart during the Iraq war! Finally got a bed in what looks like an old storage area on the ward!

Not expecting anything amazing but after spending 25 years in the British Army I probably expected a bit more back from the UK NHS.

Evening meal I got was very poor so didn’t eat it, no choice either!

On a plus note the ice cream was cold!
