I'm my wife's carer and she has complex health conditions and a long-term illness. I've learnt over the years how to monitor her blood test results. As her official carer, I request her blood test results but they tell me I have to wait for a GP appointment. It's hard enough getting a GP appointment but then you go in and you go in blind because I haven't had a chance to see them. Plus, you never see the same GP twice so there is no continuity for her care and no one who fully understands the complexity of her case.
