Did everything in their power
Summary: Did everything in their power
The Women’s were wonderful. I had a C-Section and they did everything in their power to keep me calm and they took loads of pictures, everyone was amazing. The midwives really advocate for their patients and it was a midwife who predicted my pre-eclampsia so they’re good at knowing their patients, too. I had health conditions so I was given the option of going with Ormskirk or the Women’s by my GP. I was consultant-led throughout my pregnancy. After I had the baby, my consultant came and said hello to me and the baby. I had a four week stay at the hospital, three weeks before and one week after and it was absolutely fine. The food was horrible but I had a private room and my partner could basically stay all day and I could still have my family coming in during visiting hours. My only issue was the discharge process, something went wrong. I was discharged without a community midwife and no one really noticed until I asked. Even then though when I contacted the Women’s it was sorted literally within an hour. I’d say probably the main issue was the fact that there was absolutely no communication between Liverpool and Sefton in respect of my medical notes. I did have a lot of medication when I was discharged and there wasn’t a lot of an explanation about it all. I called them up and they explained everything in a lot of detail. Overall, they were amazing. I had a bad haemorrhage and the surgeons at the Women’s had it completely under control and were walking me through what was happening and it was just so reassuring.
