I tried to get an appointment initially on a Friday. No health professional there at all. I was told to ring 111. This I did and eventually got a telephone consultation with an GP. She told me to take a urine sample to surgery. Did this. It was sent away but analysed for something different.
A week later tried to get an GP appointment. I was made a appointment with a nurse in Litherland town hall.
A week later I managed to get a GP telephone consultation.
A few weeks later tried to get an appointment with the same GP for continuity to take up her suggestion to see a urologist. That GP wasn’t available for over a month so I saw a private GP and got the referral immediately.
Having seen a urologist he wrote to the surgery requesting 2 medications. I contacted the surgery one week after they received the letter but nothing had been done. The receptionist requested the prescription be issued while I stood there.
The wait times on the phone can still be long even out of the busy time. On one occasion no one answered and it seems there was staff training but it took 3 hours later to change the answer message.
The two regular GPs are very good but they are part time. On Fridays there is no health professional there at all.
