I was scratched by my daughter’s cat quite viciously. The cut was 6 inches down and 2 inches across. It was treated initially down South and the when we came back to Sefton and I needed the butterfly stitches changed, the GP practice said they couldn’t do it. I was then given the wrong information. I was told that I could refer myself to get the stitches changed but then I was told that I couldn’t do that. There just seems to be a gap between the NHS and us as patients and no continuity for wound care whatsoever. Once I was referred, they told me that there were no appointments available and I would have to wait two weeks. I couldn’t wait that long. We ended up going to Ormskirk Walk-in and they were good, although we did have to wait for two and a half hours.
