GP access – difficult
Summary: GP access - difficult
I have had cancer recently and currently still under checks. When I needed an appointment, I had to realistically get to the GP surgery for 7.15am if on a Monday or Friday or around 7.30 am on the other days. If you ring at 8am and get through, you can be over 40 in the queue, you know that you are not getting an appointment. I could very rarely get to see my preferred GP as he covers care homes. When you go to the desk early morning, if appointments are available the receptionist books them for you. When asked questions as to why I wanted to see a GP, due to lack of privacy at the desk I would hold my phone up with details to show I had cancer.
