Summary: I see this service as outstanding

I have had an incredibly good experience at a very difficult time. I had been discharged from Aintree hospital on th 19th Sept after being exceptionally poorly and errors on the discharge papers meant they had to be called in by adult social services. In hospital, I had due to allergies to food and medication, been declared dead multiple times and had two T.I.As. The Icras Team made me feel safe, listened to and greatly supported after such a traumatic time. They gave me back my dignity. The icras team covered the lunchtime and night calls being very patient and encouraging when taking medication. When the new technology struggled to work they took observations the old traditional way(like the old fashioned matrons). The night staff explained that T.I.As were mini strokes in a very gentle and compassionate manner. My dominant entire left side had become very weak. They were very reassuring and said that if i worked hard taking things slowly that i could regain my independence. I have the utmost appreciation and respect for this team. I struggle with hearing, vision and taking vision much more since being discharged 19th Sept 2026.

They have helped me to understand my medication alongside the team of Apollo Care North sharing examples of good practice and enabling my to understand my medication better. A carer Kim from apollo care north helped me with the pictographs which the icras pharmacist haley had provided on a medication sheet. I could then use the pictographs on my verilink blister pack to support my journey to independence in taking medication.

I have been reminded that Rome wasn't built in a day and that I am doing well. I would recommend icras and apollo care north as outstanding practitioners and collaborators in their respective fields.
