Initial treatment at walk-in

Summary: Initial treatment at walk-in

Aintree A&E and Litherland Urgent Treatment Centre
November 2025
My mum had a throat infection and was treated at Litherland walk in with antibiotics. She then developed sever back pain so went back and had a water infection.
It got so bad she went to A&E. She arrived at 9.20 am. They triaged her and did bloods and admitted her but told she had to wait in the A&E waiting room. She had to sit on the hard plastic chairs for 33 hours. People were lying across the floor. I thought they would bring refreshments but this didn’t happen. The café is expensive and not everyone can afford those prices especially when waiting so long.
Mum was in so much pain. They found a cyst in her kidney and said it needed removing. I came home with a stomach bug that I had for 3 days. We still haven’t received any letter about her getting the cyst removed (January 2026).
