Rang for an appointment for husband this morning -spoke receptionist - due to struggling with mental health - explained no previous mental health issues and has gone of work - which is not usual out of character.
For my husband to be rung back and asked to go to out of hours gp in 2 days .
I took the phone at this point and advocated for my husband - explained he needed to be seen today - first mental health episode , man in his 50’s, drop in function. Not once did they ask about risk to self- demonstrating some serious red flags - mental health wise.
To then be told to come in today - what if he didn’t have me to advocate for him ? What if there had been risks ?
