Bootle Village surgery – How do they follow up care for elderly patients who are sick with no family? My friend was at this surgery most of her life. The doctor who had known her for years left a few years ago. They never make contact with her. I had to take her and say something is very wrong with her. She had lost so much weight, they still did not follow up with her. I had to take her again, she lived on her own with dementia. She never turned up for blood tests because she never remembered and didn’t know she was missing them. She ended up very poorly, with complex needs and still no follow ups from the surgery. Do they not do checks on elderly who live alone? What is the follow up for patients with no family and in addition who have dementia?
