One of our colleague’s dad’s was in a nursing home. He was sent to hospital and when they tried to discharge him, the nursing home wouldn’t take him back. This is really common. Our friend contacted Adult Social Care as he has a lot of issues; he’s blind and partially deaf. Adult Social Care have previously paid for his hearing aids and false teeth but they were both broken in hospital. They wouldn’t pay for them as they could not prove that they had been broken in the hospital so now they have to pay to replace them all, and a new blind stick. Adult Social Care are listening but they aren’t actually doing anything to find him somewhere to live. He also has dementia so this is a lot of pressure.
