Poor communication
Summary: Poor communication
My brother-in-law had a nervous breakdown at Xmas 2024 and was hospitalised in a mental health unit in Liverpool and came to live with us in Ainsdale. He was diagnosed with bladder cancer in April 2024 and then had surgery to remove bladder, prostate and lymph node. Nothing happened until December 2024 when he had further scans and chemotherapy. He passed away in Queenscourt Hospice in July 2025 at the early age of 63. None of the consultants or GPs he saw told him that end of life was near and that he would be advised to get his affairs in order. When I asked about this after he passed i was told that the medical professionals were not allowed to say this which seemed very odd.
A blind dog could have seen that he had only weeks to live, we tried talking to him kindly but he was in complete denial The end came very quick. He was walking with our daughter on Ainsdale beach just three weeks before. His GP should have told him that he was dying.
