Summary: Rude, abrupt GP, left very upset by visit
I had a fall and was hospitalised with numerous fractures. Post discharge I needed an injection prescribed by my osteoporosis consultant at the Royal who said my GP could do it. I contacted the GP numerous times to ask if this could be done. They said they hadn't received the letter from consultant requesting the injection, so I took my own copy in. I had to keep contacting the surgery, no one came back to me. I asked the pharmacy to get the injection in, which they did and contacted the GP to ask if someone else could administer it.
I was then asked to come in the same afternoon which I did, I struggled with support walking aid and my husband to get in. In the GP consulting room, the GP looked like death, he never spoke, he never asked how my recovery was going following the fall, he was so rude and abrupt. It was dumb insolence, I was upset all over Christmas by this treatment and didn't sleep for 2 nights.
