Summary: System doesn't work, no appointments 6 weeks.

My wife attended the walk in with a leg issue and was told to ring the treatment rooms booking line 0300 790 0142 for a follow up in 4 days to have the dressing changed.
When we rang that day we were told the referral had not yet been received but there were no appointments available until August anyway, over 4 weeks away.
We were told to book an appoitnment anyway but we didn't see the point as she needed to be seen this week and that would have been a wasted appointment.
The further 2 times we tried the number on Mon, Tues we waited for over 40 mins to be connected to a person. There was no message to say how long the wait to be connected or a postion in a queue, it was unbelievable.
On the Mon they told us the referral had still not been received? This was irrelevant in many ways as there were no appointments. We were told we would have to return to Litherland walk in and wait to be seen there. We had waited over 2 hours at our first visit and din't want to do this, but seems to be no other option.
Why can't appointments be booked for a treatment room?
Why were we encouraged to book an appointment in August that was of no use to us? Feel something is going on as these appointments are booked but no one will attend them.
Saw many people in Litherland walk-in coming for stitches to be removed something needs to be done.
