Some of the families that we work with refuse to let their [adult] children go there as there have been issues in the past. There have been times when the hospital hasn’t passed on important information to consultants. Some service users have seizures and complex needs and when they are admitted to the hospital, their notes aren’t updated and it creates a knock on effect. It’s affected people from accessing treatment. Someone was actually signed off from their consultant because the hospital had not passed on information about the service user’s admittance so it didn’t look like the service user needed that medical intervention anymore, but they did.
