Summary: Wrong information given
I was scratched by my daughter’s cat quite viciously. The cut was 6inches down and 2inches across. It was treated initially down south and the when we came back to Sefton and I needed the butterfly stitches changed, the GP practice said they couldn’t do it. I was then given the wrong information. I was told that I could refer myself to get the stitches changed but then I was told that I couldn’t do that. There just seems to be a gap between the NHS and us as patients and no continuity for wound care whatsoever. Once I was referred, they told me that there were no appointments available and I would have to wait two weeks. I couldn’t wait that long. We ended up going to Ormskirk Walk-in and they were good, although we did have to wait for two and a half hours.
